For decades, Community Health Promoters (CHPs) have been the unsung heroes of Kenya’s health system. They walk miles to reach remote villages, monitor the health of mothers and children, and serve as the first line of defense against disease. Yet, for too long, they have worked without adequate protection, recognition, or pay.

ACHVO-K was established by CHWs, for CHWs to change this narrative. We are driving a historic shift to transform this workforce into a respected, professional pillar of the healthcare system. But advocacy requires resources, and training requires tools. This is where you come in.

1. Fueling Legislative Advocacy & Policy Reform

Changing the law is the most sustainable way to help CHPs. Your donation supports:

• Policy Engagement: Funding the technical working groups that draft and review critical bills like the Community Health Service Act Bill (2023)

• Representation: Enabling our CHP representatives to travel and participate in national and county-level health forums, ensuring the grassroots voice is heard by decision-makers.

• Legal Recognition: Supporting campaigns that push for the mandatory certification and protection of the workforce.

2. Advancing the AIM Training Initiative

We don’t just ask for change; we prepare CHPs to lead it. Your support helps fund our Advocacy in Motion (AIM) initiative, which covers

• Digital Literacy: Providing training on how to use modern digital health tools for data collection and reporting.

• Leadership Skills: conducting workshops that teach CHPs how to negotiate, manage county chapters, and advocate for their rights locally.

• Educational Materials: Printing and distributing advocacy toolkits and training manuals to CHPs in remote areas.

3. Strengthening Grassroots Networks

ACHVO-K coordinates chapters in all 47 counties. Your contribution keeps this massive network alive by:
